At first, we thought that surely the sign on the left was merely indicating that the paranormal section and the romance section were next to each other. We were quite amused to discover that, in fact, it IS a "paranormal romance" section with books about lusty encounters with vampires, werewolves, Charlie Steadman, etc.

The picture this started out as.
I was looking through photos of my chemical romance on google images (probably the most epically amazing band to ever walk this earth!) and came across an image taken by Neil Krug (or so MTV says) and decided to have a nosey through his flickr (as you do), and turns out he’s the photographer behind all the epic my chem posters!
I noticed his portraits of each person in the My Chemical Romance Danger Days series and thought Id have a try at editing a photo to create the same effect, and if you take a nosey in the comments section you’ll see what it was intended to look like 
Theres method in the madness people:
It was a rather long process but after about two hours of trial and error I think I got it to look how I wanted…
First, I put the original picture in the background
Placed in a new blank layer
I downloaded some cloud paintbrushes and painted in the background
Then I added a lens blur to the clouds
Added some Noise
Blurred over again with gaussian blur…
Added a black and white gradient map, this gave me a fairly decent amount of control over the black and white semi transparant layer (basically put in there to take out some colour whilst retaining contrast)
Put a light blue colour balance in and gave it a very low opacity
Masked through the band members
Spent a good ten minutes finding a similar font (but to no avail!) and then replicating the colour effects on it.
Thats about all there is to it
Without a doubt this has been one of my favourite little photoshop projects to date, shame though cos’ Id love to do more little things like this, but theres just no time with exams and the other shizz that comes with being 15
