A recent survey conducted by the people at TSB Magazine, an online dating advice and men’s interest site, showed that, for guys, the most frustrating aspect of dating is trying to communicate with a woman via text message.

Participants in the survey were asked to choose their biggest issue from a list of some of the most traditionally frustrating or confusing aspects of dating, approaching women, and romance.

Perhaps in a nod to the power of modern technology, text messaging woes eclipsed the more-standard options on the list. 32% of the men polled said that confusion about what to say in a text (read texting examples here) and when to send a message to a woman was the most frustrating aspect trying to start a romantic relationship.

Other respondents to the survey pointed to more traditional problems. The next most popular problems had to do with having a conversation with a woman and the awkwardness that comes along with an end-of-the-night kiss. 22% of the participants in this survey said that enduring a stalling conversation with an attractive woman who they have recently met was the biggest source of anxiety and frustration in the dating game. An additional 12% said that actually approaching women in the first place was their biggest source of dating anxiety.

After conversational stumbles, the ?when ? and ?how? of going in for that end-of-the-night kiss was the next most widespread problem. 18% of respondents found awkward first kiss situations the most frustrating aspect of dating.

The other options on the survey included ?having women see you are a friend, not a love interest? and ?hitting it off with a woman only to have her shift her interest to someone else.? These issues earned 10% and 6% of the votes, respectively. Yet, it was how to start a text conversation that had most men truly frustrated.

TSB Magazine has done other dating related surveys. It also publishes dating advice and general men’s interest stories several times each day. The magazine has a publishing arm that offers dating-related ebooks, audiobooks, and courses. These books and courses, available for download through Amazon and through TSB’s website, cover many of the topics that were included in the dating survey mentioned above.

Romance Stories – Looking For Love And Hot Romance

Modern romance stories cover a broad field that embraces the paranormal, historical, western, black, fantasy, as well as American romance fiction. Plot lines strive to be fresh and settings are often intricate and detailed. Above all, the characters experience a yearning that has them looking for love and intimacy.

Maybe they can change shape (shape shifters and werewolves), read minds (telepaths) foresee events (seers), speak to the dead (necromancers), display extraordinary strength and speed (vampires) or have other skills that equip them beyond the ordinary.

Of course, historical romance is still very much alive and kicking with many modern romance novels that make use of gothic, Victorian, Regency, confederate, western, etc. settings. Lords, princes, highlanders and pirates abound in the historical fiction of Stephanie Laurens (The Elusive Bride), Diana Gabaldon (An Echo in the Bone), Sabrina Jeffries (The Truth About Lord Stoneville) and many others who like their romance touched with the atmosphere and customs of a bygone era.

Western and country romance is also strong, with many adherents. Although True Blood (Charlaine Harris) is thought of as paranormal romance, it is also set in a small town in Louisiana. Those who like to read about heroic, passionate cowboys should consider Kerry A. Jones (Loved Enough), Leigh Greenwood (A Texan’s Honor) and Lorelei James (Branded As Trouble).

Story lines reflect attitudes women can identify with, regardless of the settings. For instance, Lora Leigh, in Nauti Deceptions, writes about an attractive female teacher who changes her identity after being framed and involved in a sex scandal in a small town in Kentucky.

In Dark Slayer, by Christine Feehan, Ivory is a rarity, a Carpathian female who has been protected throughout her life but circumstances compel her to free a ‘mage’ from a cave that serves as a prison and to flee with him.

The leading characters in modern romance stories have feelings and emotions that build to moments of intense passion and the plots may be clearly erotic. The heroines in these stories (despite their settings) are not the delicate, restrained women to be found in Jane Austen novels. They often face danger with courage and embrace romance with an eagerness that earlier generations could only dream of.

Those who are looking for the romantic and social subtleties of an earlier age might well be advised to seek out the writings of Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters. However, for those who prefer their romantic fantasies to be more akin to hot and sweaty, modern romance writers serve them well.

One of the most romantic cities in the world, it just oozes romance. This is a place of fine food, where people honor and love eating. Where eating is an art, not just something to do. It is a city of history and character with natural beauty. Art and more art, a place where you can’t see it all in a one week vacation, and then just can’t wait to go back to experience it all over again. It is one of those places that people return again and again, just to get that feeling of Italy all over again.

Italy is a marvelous honeymoon destination; so romantic, just to say the name it brings up visions of romance. Whether you stay in a large city, go into the villages, walk the narrow streets, go to Rome, or visit the Alps; all of Italy leads to wine, food and camaraderie with the locals and/or other visitors, the general atmosphere is of visiting and getting to know one another and to just enjoy life, no hurry, no bustling around; slow and savor life.

Fifty percent of Italy is mountainous, so the farmers have been very creative in creating land that can be farmed. They have taken cliffs and terraced them into farmland; it is original, breathtaking and beautiful.

Many visit Italy for the religious sites and many abound in all of Italy, to visit them all on a one week vacation would be a tremendous stretch, so I am sure this is why people return time after time so they can eventually visit them all. Don’t forget the water canals and taking a ride in a gondola with a singing maestro to enchant you on cool summer night. Can it get any better than this.
